DQPro, the global leader in providing proactive data monitoring software for the P&C specialty insurance sector, announced today that it will establish its United States operations in Hartford, Connecticut. The move is assisted by the InsurTech Corridor, a transatlantic initiative designed to accelerate international market entry for high growth insurtech firms and through strategic support from Connecticut Insurance & Financial Services (CT IFS), the MetroHartford Alliance, and the UK Department of Business and Trade.
Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, DQPro’s expansion underscores Hartford’s rising position as one of the world’s foremost destinations for insurtech. With 147 licensed domiciled insurers and more than 1,000 non-domestic insurers, the highest percentage of insurance employment per capita in the country, and a workforce enriched by over 110,000 insurance and financial services professionals statewide, Connecticut offers unparalleled advantages to firms seeking to scale in the U.S. market.
DQPro CEO James Loft said the company’s decision was driven by “Hartford’s unique combination of deep insurance heritage, world-class industry access, and an innovation-forward environment.” He added, “The support provided to us through the InsurTech Corridor, particularly from CT IFS, the MetroHartford Alliance, and AdvanceCT, has been exceptional. Hartford offers everything we need to expand our U.S. footprint: a skilled workforce, strong industry partnerships, and proximity to many of the world’s leading specialty carriers. With our extensive industry presence in the UK and globally we are excited to build our U.S. operations here and to help insurers nationwide gain confidence in their data and strengthen compliance across their organizations.”
CT IFS, a statewide initiative of the MetroHartford Alliance played a central role in supporting DQPro’s market entry.
“DQPro’s arrival reinforces why global insurance and insurtech companies choose Connecticut,” said Susan Winkler, CT IFS’ Executive Director. “Our industry ecosystem, built on collaboration, talent, and global leadership, offers the perfect foundation for innovative companies to thrive. We are excited to welcome DQPro to Hartford and look forward to supporting their growth through our extensive network and resources.”
“The InsurTech Corridor was created to make market entry into the U.S. faster, easier, and more collaborative for global insurtech firms, and DQPro exemplifies that success,” said David Griggs, President and CEO of the MetroHartford Alliance. “Hartford offers a rare combination of insurance heritage and forward-looking innovation, and we are proud to work alongside our UK colleagues to help companies like DQPro put down roots and scale from Connecticut to markets nationwide.”
“Growing Connecticut as a destination for innovative insurance and insurtech companies is a priority for the Insurance Department, and we are thrilled that DQPro has chosen to establish its headquarters in Hartford,” said Deputy Insurance Commissioner Jared Kosky. “Our state offers a strong, experienced insurance workforce and a collaborative regulatory environment, supported by a culture that values innovation and consumer protection. We are confident that DQPro, and other innovative companies, will find in Connecticut both exceptional talent and a welcoming community as they seek to grow their business.”
Mike Hendy, UK-CT InsurTech Lead, UK Department for Business & Trade stated that “DQPro’s US launch here in New England is welcomed and we are proud to have supported this endeavor. The firm’s successful expansion is evidence of the UK-CT InsurTech Corridor’s continued success. Four years since its inception, the ‘Corridor’ continues to enable British Insurtechs to connect with the Hartford, CT Insurance and Financial Services ecosystem, driving growth and unlocking business opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic. Our Financial and Professional Services team in the US is committed to our partnership with CT-IFS and the MetroHartford Alliance, and looks forward to more success stories in the years to come.”
AdvanceCT, the state’s business recruitment and economic development partner, similarly welcomed the news. John Bourdeaux, President and CEO of AdvanceCT, said, “DQPro represents the type of forward-thinking company that the InsurTech Corridor was designed to attract. Their technology fills a critical need in the specialty insurance market: helping global carriers strengthen underwriting governance and regulatory compliance. Their decision to invest in Connecticut strengthens our leadership in insurance, enhances our tech ecosystem, and adds momentum to the state’s economic growth.”
DQPro’s expansion comes as the InsurTech Corridor continues to attract international attention from companies seeking streamlined U.S. market entry. The initiative, developed through collaboration between the UK Department for Business and Trade, Insurtech UK, CT IFS, MetroHartford Alliance, and the Connecticut Department of Insurance provides international firms with regulatory guidance, market access, business development support, and a collaborative environment in Hartford.
With its new U.S. presence, DQPro will work closely with P&C specialty insurers across the country to deploy automated data controls, improve operational governance, and provide enterprise-wide visibility into data quality and compliance. The company currently monitors more than £22B in gross written premium for more than 2,000 users globally and is trusted by some of the world’s largest and most complex carriers.
